He is a brilliant cricketer and a great ambassador for South Africa. We are proud to be associated with him.

Hashim Amla, the world’s top ranked one-day international batsman, was named Sports Star of the Year at the South African Sports Awards at Sun City on Sunday evening.

He received the award ahead of US Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, breaststroke superstar Cameron van der Burgh, IRB Sevens Series Player of the Year Cecil Afrika, and Banyana Banyana’s leading goal-scorer, Noko Matlou.

Amla was voted the Cricket South Africa Fans’ Cricketer of the Year at the SA Cricket Awards in June. His fellow cricketers also voted him the SA Players’ Player of the Year.

In September, he will be up for the LG People’s Choice Award at the LG ICC Awards 2011.

How Moffatt Optical came to be the largest group of independent professional eyecare practitioners in KZN …
1979 – Doug Moffatt opens his first practice in Pietermaritzburg
1987 – Moffatt & Hulbert Optometrists is formed when Warwick Hulbert joins Doug Moffatt as his partner
1995 – Mark Marshall becomes a partner in Moffatt & Hulbert Optometrists, Pietermaritzburg
1997 – the Moffatt Optical Group is created

Today

In 2011, Moffatt Optical Pietermaritzburg PROUDLY celebrates 32 years of administering outstanding, innovative vision care through our 7 branches in the KZN Midlands and 1 branch in Reservoir Hills, Durban. To complete the Moffatt Optical Pietermaritzburg team, there is Sunglass Zone by Moffatt Optical – the largest sunglass boutique in the KZN Midlands and Moffatt Express, our very own manufacturing lens laboratory – the only of its kind in the Midlands. Backing up these branches is the Head Office who takes care of most financial, administrative and stock functions.
Another 11 branches in Durban and Zululand keep the Moffatt Optical flag flying there.
